Does anyone have any suggestions for categories?
Here are some of my thoughts on the forum. First, it is a MAJOR deterrent to show up to a forum and see that there are no posts and comments. That is one of the purposes of you, the beta testers. We need to get this forum poppin so when we launch, people can see a bustling forum. Second, when a forum is in its infancy, I think that having too many categories could be detrimental, as the people participating will have the posts, comments, and replies spread too thing over them. Instead of having a few categories with a lot of posts, they will have a lot of categories with a few or no posts.
That being said, what are some suggestions you think would be good to start with?
Thank you all for the help you, the community, is giving to get this started. I think this has incredible potential to be a great tool for all of us, not matter what experience level.
I think one section for every size/ category of quad would be good. Like beyond 5", 5", 4", 3", Toothpicks/ aggressive whoops (think TH2 Freestyle) and then Tinywhoops.
Then like one section per component. Like a section for Analog video, Digital, FCs, RC link. In the FC section you can include Betaflight stuff, maybe have a pinned/sticky thread that keeps a running list of BF version patch notes.
Maybe a separate section for user videos, like a gallery
A section dedicated to 3D printing
Another section for fun like simulator stuff, ideas, testing, etc.
Not too segregated but not all crammed into one.
Maybe do a break down of different Firmware versions Betaflight Emuflight Kiss Etc. So it's easy to differentiate issues or get tips for specific firmwares.
I've been flying beast class and 7" rigs fur two years and now macro quads as well as almost every other class. I feel that macro quads are hot right now 8" -11" so having a macro class added would be a good idea. Dan runs macro as well.
Maybe some sub categories in the show your build so people can narrow down to size and style kind of like rotor builds. Rather then everything piled together. Lots of people ask for suggestions on setting up builds for their frames and this could be a nice spot to send them.
I’ve already told you that a FAQ would be hugely beneficial. I also think that instead of like a section for every size. How about a micro, freestyle and race category for quads to keep it pretty low.
A non fpv section might not be a bad idea.
Then printing carbon frame design comp programming to settings to I mean this would be the go to..that would set this apart from any other..have coding people could copy and paste for cli dumps ect. Everyone would be here all the time.
Down to best screws what type of thread lock too too too👍🏻
Soo. Let's break it down..every aspect of fpv and align that into sections For the builder. New and advanced. And I mean every little aspect. From TX to BEC's how it works kinda like Oscar L does but fpv B style. That will add quite a few sections and a complete builders guide from scratch..
